Counselling and Psychotherapy in Sale, Stockport and South Manchester

Hello

I'm Pam Hardy and I'd like to tell you briefly what you can expect when you have a counselling session (sometimes referred to as a therapy session) with me.

You can expect:

to be really listened to and to be really heard
to be yourself, to be truly you
to not be judged by me
to be helped to express thoughts and feelings, maybe sometimes for the first time ever
to be helped to talk about experiences that may seem unspeakeable
to be helped to explore ways to move on or forward or simply to be able to be more comfortable where you are now
to be accepted for who you are

To be more specific, I have helped people overcome what they saw as an insurmountable problem. But I must stress that it is you the client who is in control at all times; I am there to help you do the work.

When you open your thoughts and feelings in a session, you know that you are truly safe, that nothing you say will be heard by anyone else.*

I have worked with hundreds of people who come alone or with couples who are struggling with a breakdown in their relationship or their marriage.

A testimonial "Thank you Pam for truly hearing what I say and for being such a clear-thinking, compassionate guide on my journey to better understand and accept the different parts of myself. You are exceptional. Sandra Williamson, Northwich, Cheshire."

My professional background:

I am a qualified as a psychotherapist and counsellor.

I am a Relate Certified Counsellor
I also have a Certificate in Psychosexual Relationship Counselling
I am a Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists

I have been a practising counsellor for 7 years, previously in Knutsford but more recently in Sale, in South Manchester. I am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. I work with people from many areas in South Manchester including Altrincham, Macclesfield, Sale, Stockport, and Wilmslow.

I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

I offer therapy to couples and individuals covering a broad range of issues such as relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, sex addiction, abuse, ill-health, low self-esteem, sexual problems and work-related issues. I am also trained in helping people with psychosexual issues, where thoughts and feelings around sex get confused and our bodies do not do what we expect them to do, thus affecting our relationship. The effects can show up in many ways - for example, loss of desire and fear of intimacy between you and a partner or may be more specific to an individual - for example, erectile dysfunction (impotence), failure to orgasm, vaginismus. I also offer a combination of counselling and hypnotherapy. My frequently asked questions page gives more information about counselling.

NEXT STEPS

If you decide that you wish to see me for a counselling session, I offer an initial assessment visit where you can talk to me in complete confidence, without obligation, about what is troubling you. During the visit we have the chance to get to know one another and you get an opportunity to find out whether you would wish to work with me on an ongoing basis. If we decide to work together, we can choose a day and time when we can meet each week (the time can be flexible to fit in with your life).

For a therapy session please contact me on 07533 270 396 or email me at onepamhardy@yahoo.co.uk.

I have a private practice in Sale, Cheshire, within easy reach of Stockport, Wilmslow, Didsbury and Greater Manchester through my proximity to the M60. I am close to the main A556 and convenient for public transport links.

Some explanation of the language used, such as therapy, counselling and psychotherapy are described on my frequently asked questions page.
