Individual counselling in:

Couple counselling - for example, fear of intimacy, relationship or marital breakdown, sexual difficulties, domestic violence, issues of control.



Personal Approach

I was trained in psychodynamic counselling and systemic counselling.

Psychodynamic counselling means that I consider the experiences we have as children greatly affects our relationships here and now, often on an unconscious level.

Systemic counselling involves looking at the family history within which we are brought up, looking at the wider family, its interactions and beliefs and reflecting on how these historical factors influence our current behaviour.

But overall I would say that I use an integrative approach with my clients, taking ideas from many schools of counselling, including gestalt, person centred and transactional analysis. I have found that sessions work best when I tailor the way I work to what best suits my client's needs at any given time.
